Alberta Junior Hereford Club
The Alberta Junior Hereford Club is an important part of the Alberta Hereford Association. Its purpose is to encourage and facilitate youth involvement in the Hereford breed. Members of the Canadian Junior Hereford Association and all young Hereford enthusiasts are welcome to participate in this club's annual summer Junior Show, in junior events at the Alberta Hereford Association area clubs' field days, at the special junior shows at Farmfair in Edmonton and any other junior activities that take place in Alberta.

The Canadian Junior Hereford Association is the most active national junior breed organization in Canada and offers many benefits to its members, such as the Semen Donation Program and Bonanza - the annual national junior show.

Alberta Hereford Association 4-H Breed Awards

Each 4-H member showing a Hereford or Hereford Influence 4-H project shall be recognized accordingly. To receive recognition, club leaders should contact one of the following Hereford club representatives or the Alberta Hereford Association office two weeks prior to awards. Check out the following website: http://www1.agric.gov.ab.ca/$department/deptdocs.nsf/all/4h6312?opendocument to select the closest government office as this is how the breed awards are distributed throughout the province. In addition, any 4-H members who wins Champion, Reserve Champion or Rate of Gain honours at the Club, District or Regional level with an Hereford or Hereford Influence 4-H project qualifies to receive an additional promotional item. They simply need to submit a photograph of their winning project to the office of the Alberta Hereford Association and provide contact information.
